Not Good Enough

Gone are those who rise at dawn
Found are those we may not trust
Not scarred by dirt, not plagued by dust
For as the seas of time ravage this land
We begin to question what made us grand

Men of power! Men of might!
Now we plead just to stop the fight
Do not offend, don’t dare oppress
We are all equals you know, don’t distress

This ploy of the weak, to halt the strong
Surely this can’t go on for long
You must all see, you have to know
Does your spirit not twinge below?

Where is the courage, what about valor?
Can’t you see it is strength we need in this hour?
I see none able, that will make a stand
And I fear you no longer know what made us grand
