Overcoming

Clarity which lived in now gone

Swept away by a desire wrong

Will of man not powerful as thunder

By Devils drink it is torn asunder

Lament upon sacred vows

So easily forgotten now

Once more thy strength forgotten

To walk a path of the downtrodden

Though not by others forced or made

But only how he chooses to behave

Ignore the past, bring forth the future

Securing gashes with poor sutures

For tomorrow he will thrive!

If for today he can survive

But Tomorrow being years ago

His hope now barely in tow

He only shows the pleasant face

Yet each day goes from place to place

Searching for a tried and true solution

That will make him adhere to his resolution

Friends expect nothing anymore

But judgement he abhors

They come to comfort and embrace

This fake smile they easily trace

A loved one they once knew

Not willing to turn a page anew

Though a spirit bent and broken

Can still be shaken by simple words spoken

And with a love truly ensured

Disease can be finally cured

What once was lost can again be found

Spirit darkened may again rebound

Sun sets and moon appears

Simply the cycle of the earth as the mind clears

Life with a future full of hope

Not just another day with baggage to tote

Amazing; the love of another

What a joy to rediscover

Body, mind, soul reunited

Finally a reflection he can delight in
