Lessons for My Someday Children

Respect your mother
Think before you speak or act(but act decisively when you do)
Do the right thing not the popular thing
You and only you are responsible for your happiness
Be accountable for your own actions
Don’t expect praise for doing something you should do anyway
Never stop learning, no matter how much you think you know there is always more information and knowledge to be gained
Being young is not an excuse for being stupid
If you are always the smartest person in the room, you need to go to a different room; you only hurt yourself by hanging around people who don’t help you grow.
Strive for excellence at all times
Listen more than you speak
Uphold the family name, everything you do is noticed by someone
Every gun is loaded, ALL the time. Don’t point a weapon at something you wouldn’t want to shoot and keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire.
Never hit a woman, and never allow a woman to be hit
Stand up for those who are unable to stand up for themselves; when people do nothing oppression is only encouraged
Have a take and don’t suck; have an opinion and research it so you actually know what you are talking about. If you don’t know what you are talking about, say you don’t have the information to speak on the subject, don’t just spit out whatever bs pops in your head
